Catherine (“Cat”) Saunders is a San Francisco-based employment counselor. She is passionate about helping people achieve their career and educational goals. She has provided career counseling and vocational rehabilitation services in community agency, government agency, and higher education settings with diverse clientele. Cat is experienced in conducting individual vocational counseling and group sessions, as well as facilitating workshops and presentations on career development. Her approach builds on the strengths, resources, and interests of her clients while providing an educational foundation that will serve their career goals long after counseling is over.

Cat believes strongly in assisting those who face stigma while meeting their employment goals. Cat’s work has focused on job placement and career counseling with  clients managing mental wellness, substance abuse concerns, and disabilities. In addition, Cat has presented and conducted workshops on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) career development. In addition to her vocational work, Cat has a strong background in community organizing, social justice, and community based participatory research (CBPR) with LGBT communities. Cat understands the necessity of providing culturally competent services to underrepresented members of society.
